My Sailor is now in his 3rd week of A School. He had had his first test in A school earlier this week. He made what civilians would call an A on it. Grading is different in Navy school. He said he could have done better and was not completely pleased with himself. The grade he made does get his study hours lessened so that is good.
We are going over there this weekend to see him. It will be a bitter sweet visit. We all know that this will be the last time we see him until Thanksgiving. That is the plan for now. I know that we need to get use to going longer periods of time not seeing him in person, but at the same time, we all want to take advantage of what we have while we have it.
My Sailor has also added a girlfriend to the mix. She seems like a nice young lady and completely supports him. She goes to colllege not far from where we live so they are having to do the long distance thing. I have my concerns in many ways about all of it, but I also know that I have to let my boy grow up and learn how to deal with grown up things. I'm staying positive about all of it and praying that they are a Happily Ever After couple.
I am loving getting to talk and text my Sailor, however it almost seems like a double edge sword. He seems sooo close yet sooo far. My youngest child had decided that she wants to go back to the "boot camp" way of things by drawing and writing her big brother letters and mailing them to him. I know that he will welcome the unexpected mail and if this is her way of handling her big brother being gone, then I will pay for the stamps. I'm not sure how I'm going to handle all of it just yet....other than being the strong Navy Mom and never letting others see my "leak" from my eyes. Thankfully by being in the South, we always seem to have something blooming that can cause allergies to act up so that is my go to excuse for when someone does catch me "leaking".
I'm open to all advice for those Moms/girlfriends/wives that have more experience than me and I'm always willing to help that that are looking for help/advice.
HOOYAH Navy Family.
