I had the honor of watching my husband graduate boot camp yesterday ⚓❤ it was a wonderful ceremony!very moving!
For those traveling to future boot camp graduations I wanted to share some advice. I am not from Chicago nor a big city, so I was overwhelmed driving there! I got lost many times (thankfully never while my sailor was with me!) So my advice would be to utilize "Sarges"car service www.MyNavyTaxi.com instead of renting a car he is a life saver ! I was lost ,on my way in my rental car, to see my sailor off at the airport when I called Sarge and he rescued me. He brought me the rest of the way to the airport in time to see my sailor! I would also recommend attending the meet and greet the night before pir. It's fun and Sarge provides a lot of useful information.
It was a blessing to see my sailor graduate!
God bless our Sailors ⚓

kelmomo12,

Thank you for the information, it's good to know.  I really want to go but don't know if I'll be able to due to the expense (flight, hotel,etc..)  If things work out and I am blessed enough to be able go the information you have shared will definitely come in handy!

Kelmomof2, Congratulations to your Husband, I am going next month for my sons Graduation! Did you get to spend a whole lot of time with him and was he allowed to stay at the hotel with you?

Terri you'll enjoy graduation it's amazing and such a joyful time! We had the afternoon after graduation together but he left for A school the next morning. Best wishes to your SR and your family!

Terri, the amount of time you have with your Sailor depends on if "A" School or training is in GL or if your Sailor will fly out. There is no overnight Liberty authorized PIR weekend. Those staying in GL must return to their barracks on the other side of the street and those flying out must return to the RTC. See PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.
