Cried most of the day. I am trying to be strong be its so hard. I don't want him to go. This Christmas is going to be horrible without him. Even putting up the tree made me cry....

I understand! Mine left the 1st. I cry on and off at random times. I work full time which keeps me busy but it is stressful. I miss my son so much. His last night at home was a Sunday too and I cried like a baby, could not sleep, etc. I think this is all pretty normal but I don't like it. Prayers that you will have a better day tomorrow!

I know how you feel, my sons last night home is tonight...it's killing me. I was pretty good last week, then since Saturday I've been crying just about all day, out of nowhere to.

I feel the same way with Christmas, I don't wanna put the tree up, don't have any interest. I have a 10yr old so I have to do it. and he still believes.... I told him Santa will  bring him his gifts but we will wait until our oldest Graduates and celebrate Christmas in February!!

I don't know what I'm going to be like tomorrow when we drive him to MEPS and say goodbye for the night. We go back up on Thursday for the swearing in ceremony then he's gone....... then I fall apart and don't know how to move on... but I can honestly say this site has been awesome it makes you realize I'm not a psycho crazy mom, who is perfectly fine with my son living in my basement till he's 45!!  :)

All I can do is keep you posted on what I go through these next few days and share them with you, good and bad and hopefully that will help you in some way.

I will be praying for you.  I have been crying on and off.  When I think about it that's when I cry the most.  Even talking to people at work I tear up.

I have a 15 year old still at home and he is even having a hard time with his brother leaving.  They are very close and do everything together.  We put the tree up but are going to celebrate Christmas with just my 15 year old at home.  We will do another one when his brother graduates.

And you are not alone on this journey.  We moms have to stick together.  they are still our babies no matter what age.

Please keep me posted on how you are doing.  I will check in with you tomorrow.

Hang in there moms! Bootcamp is a huge adjustment for us moms, but stay strong for your SR because they are the ones whose lives have been or are about to be turned upside down. LemonElephant always says, "don't miss 'em while you got 'em" or something like that. That's so true!  Love on them and get an extra squeeze or two. Rest easy in the fact that they are being well taken care of at RTC. Send your SR a letter everyday and don't expect very many in return….not a lot of time to write during this experience. Throw yourselves into meeting the other Navy Moms, join your PIR group here and on Facebook. These women will be your life line and will become your "sea sisters". Have yourself a good cry then get on with making those adjustments in your own life.  This is just the beginning of a bumpy ride.
