My heart aches so bad that its even difficult to be writing this! It has been more heart wrenching and difficult than I ever could have imagined! I just can't stop crying! why why why does it hurt so much????

It is painful........and while it's difficult to believe right now, it WILL get better....just write to him every day and keep yourself busy.  PIR will be here before you know it.  And when they get to A school, communication opens up and this helps.  Make sure you join Boot Camp Moms!

It hurts so much because you're a good Mom. I don't think that any amount of time can prepare you for a child leaving home. The crying will subside over time. You will always miss him, but it does get easier over time. This is a wonderful sight to go to for support. I don't comment on many posts, but I do find it helpful to read that there are others in the same "boat" as me. The first 3 weeks were the hardest for me due to know telephone calls. But after that, I felt a little more at ease. I know it doesn't seem like it now, but PIR is just around the corner!

I've had 2 sons to leave home for the Navy.  My youngest just left last week and believe me, it was just as hard if not harder to let the 2nd one go.  It does get easier though, it did with the first one and I know it will this 2nd time around also.  The first one gets to come home on leave when his little brother graduates in September, can hardly wait!  Anyway, we gotta hang in there together!  One day at a time.

WOW I remember that day all too well and felt the very same way,and I think my hubby was even worse then me.It will take time but whenever you get sad just think of the great thing your son is doing and let the pride take over the sadness.Hey there would be something wrong if you weren't upset right.Take one day at a time and keep in touch with N4Ms we all help each other get through it.Right now we are helping you but one day very soon you will be helping other new moms here. Hang in there when you need some support just holler, we are always here for you! -Ruth

My son left July 11th. It is literally the WORST feeling I could ever imagine. I still havent heard from him and im on pins and needles. I just wanna hear him.  Soon as I got his graduation date, I had my plane tickets booked, and wrote him to let him know that come August 31st , Mama will be there 3 miles away from him. He graduates Sept 1st. Gonna cry cry and cry until then and on that day..  Thinking about you jessesmom and all others moms out there.. !!!   Carla from Alabama
