My son made it to boot camp at Great Lakes on April 22,2014. He called me that night to let me know he made it safe and he was at the base. I got home this past Friday on April 25, 2014 and there was his box with his clothes and phone, it broke my heart. He  finished school last year and he just turned 19  02/09   This has just broke my heart but it is something that he wanted but I miss him so much. When will he get to call home. Did any one else son/ daughter go to boot camp on the 22.

Gricelda, I hope you hear from your son son and get the letter. Do you know if there is a site where you can see them at boot camo

I don't know.

No, there is no site where you are guaranteed to see your SR while in BC. The PAO has a weekly Trivia Tuesday contest on https://www.facebook.com/NavyRecruitTrainingCommand. This is an opportunity for you to win a photo of your recruit's division with your recruit front and center in the photo.

Connie, I got the box on Monday as well.  I was a mess!  Hoping to get a letter today so I can mail him letters and cards. I am hoping they get to call this weekend.  It would be great to hear his voice.

Mail Call is every weekday (M-F) evening once a Recruit Mail Petty Officer has been trained. The first Mail Call is usually on 1-3 or 1-4 DOT. Recruits can only write during holiday routine on Sundays at first and the first holiday routine is usually the second Sunday (third for some) after arrival at the RTC. See Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit.

connie24219, you are very welcome. Although I love your profile pic, it is best not to have a pic of your SR that visible to everyone.

My son James also left on the 22nd. It was very hard to leave him. He is my oldest son but he has been my rock. Now I have to be his rock. I received my box yesterday. Very hard. I'm hoping to get the graduation info also. Does anyone know how many days graduation is??? Hotels are going fast. I counted 9 Fridays to get a graduation date. I know it's not set in stone till I get the letter. Does anyone know when we will receive it. Sorry I'm a little OCD!!
