Tomorrow my husband and I will be dropping our son off with his recruiter. Boot camp is suppose to start on Thursday for him. My question is will my son be sworn in tomorrow or Thursday? We live about an hour away from MEPS and really would like to attend.

I would call the recruiter to confirm, but I believe he will be sworn in on Thursday.  He spends the night at MEPS and then the next day sworn in and fly's out.

I drove 3 hours to take my daughter to MEPS and watch her get sworn in! It was worth the time and money! These are moments in time you can never get back:)

It is a special time so I would be there if you possibly can.  Since we live about 20 minutes from MEPS we were able to check him out of the hotel and take him to dinner the night before he was sworn in. Good Luck!

If you drop him off on Wednesday then they will take him to his MEP and he will get sworn in on Thursday. My family drove an hour to get there. Wouldn't have missed it for the world. Very emotional for all.

Hi Lori, My son is with your son at boot camp. I am the other Mom that was there. My name is Anita, and I cried a lot yesterday too, especially when they got in the van and left! I did get the phone call about 2:15 saying he made it to Great Lakes, it lasted about 1 minute! Next call 3 weeks, it's going to be a long 3 weeks!

Anita it was so nice to meet you and your family yesterday. There was no way I could stand there and watch them get in the van. Today is a good day and I am looking forward to that letter lol!

Scott and I are having a hard time emailing the video. Not sure but I think it's just too big. We tried to compress the file and no luck. As soon as we figure out how to email it I will send it to you :)
