Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

boot camp

hello everyone! I am new to the Military world. My husband of 11 years father was in the Navy and now our son has just left for boot camp. I miss hearing his voice. I am also new to the world of blogs and posting notes, I do not even have a face book. but i am learning and have been reading everyone blogs. I get the feeling that i will be sitting and waiting a lot these days. I am very proud of my son, so if I have posted this correctly and someone is able to read this please drop a note and say hello.

Comment by Stew Mom2 on March 16, 2011 at 10:00pm: I know the eight weeks is just a short time but dang!!! it has been a week today and we just miss him so. we have two younger kids so when eight o'clock comes it is just soooo quite. now instead of saying can you turn the computer down we just look at each other thinking it is way tooo quite. lol but we are very proud!!!

Comment by sherilyn on March 17, 2011 at 10:56am: i'm new also, my daughter left on 3-14. waiting for the box & letter. she was a dep'r for 1 yr., her job was changed after she signed on, so we were able to have 1 more christmas with her here at home. this website has such wonderful information, and i am learning something new every time i go on it.
