Daughter left to Bootcamp yesterday!

My daughter arrived at boot camp yesterday. I am very proud and happy for her but so sad at the same time. I cant stop crying! Anytime someone asks me about her, I cry... Hopefully it gets better.

Your daughter will be fine. I was in your position at one time, everything will be fine.

my fiancé left July 1st too. it still hasn't gotten easier for me, missing him everyday. Have you received anything in the mail yet?

My daughter leaves for Basic Training next month on the 12th, and I can relate to you.  I am so proud of my baby girl and I am ready for her to expand her wings and fly, but the smart part of my heart is so sad !!  We have never been away from each other and I am going to miss her something great.   How do I get past this? Will the tears stop after she leaves???

Gensmom, yes, you will get used to the new normal and pride will overtake the feeling of loss, but there will be times when the missing will sneak up on you.

I left info for you on your My Page. Getting informed about what is going on and connecting with others going through the same thing will help.

My son left for boot camp July 1st and I still haven't received any information on his address, does this take a few weeks? I am really needed to know how he is doing. I received his clothes & cellphone yesterday.

Yvette,

It does get better.  Your tears will soon change from that of sad to such pride that it is a lil overwhelming at times, but great nonetheless.  My daughter graduated from BC about 3 weeks ago, I walk around at work showing everyone her photos!  I couldn't be more proud!  The first couple of weeks are the hardest, but you will soon get to talk to her and look at the photos posted on the RTC Facebook page - I found that looking through the photos helped.  I found my daughter right away - you would think that with so many kids and pictures that you wouldn't be able to find them but then mom's instinct kicks in and you find them!! Maybe not the first time, but keep looking!  Write your SR every day, they say the letters really help and send pictures of home, things going on - it's the little things.  Good luck!  Encourage her often!

Robin, the average time to receive The Form Letter is ten days after arrival. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening and what to expect. I left info for you on your My Page.
