Daughter went to bootcamp today 4-10-13

I'm new to this site and hoping to hear back from other mom's that have daughters in the Navy.  Mine left for bootcamp just today.  I have so many emotions and so many questions.  What is bootcamp going to be like for her?  Is it 24/7?  Will she be ok?  Will she be safe?  Would love to hear feedback....

I can't offer you any advice, but I know what you are going through. My nephew, whom I am very close to, left on 4-9-13. We will find out together!!!

Hi. My daughter left on the 10th of April also. She was so excited when she went to the airport on April 9th to fly out...however their flight was delayed until the next morning. I got a call from her when they landed in Chicago, and again later that night to tell me that would be the last i hear from her for about 3 weeks. I miss her alot, but I'm glad she has decided to serve our country.

It's been very comforting seeing all the mom's on this website and hearing about thier son or daughter joining the Navy.  Thank you all who commented on my post.  Paula - our daughters (I assume) are in Basic together.  I don't know why, but it makes me feel like she's not alone any longer....even if she doesn't know anyone yet.  I keep seeing that no new is good news but I'm still really looking forward to that first letter.  I'm also going to contact her recruiter tomorrow.

Noelle & Christina - Are the days getting better for you?  I know that I at least do not feel like I'm going to cry every minute now but still get sad knowing that I will not hear her voice for 8 weeks and pray that everything is ok.  Thank you all for being there for me and I will be there for all of you.

It has finally hit me that she is grown and gone. The last 2 nights have been very hard for me, but i just keep thinking about how proud I am of her for taking this step to serve our country!
