Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I got my son box today with his things in it, I though his address will be the box I got so sad again. I was looking forward to get the address with his box. Do anyone know when will I get his address?

Shawanda11...you will get a form letter from him next with his expected PIR date. I believe this contains his address and on the back of the form look for a personal note from him. My son wrote two lines on the back of his form letter. Once you get his ship and division information you can join that group on this site and start to share information with other family members who have family in the same ship/division as your son. Hang in there! Keep your phone available since we never know when they will be able to make a phone call. Good Luck!

The form letter usually arrives within a week or so after the box.
You may want to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms, PIR Reference Information, and New Members Stop Here. Once you know your SR’s PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Moms and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that once it has been created. There will be a lot of information and support for you in those groups as well as the DEP group you are already a member of.
