Hey everybody I have a question about seeing a doctor. My husband is stationed over seas and is in the process of getting me down there with him. We almost have it all done except for getting my medical clearence. His chief is going to be sending me the correct papers to get filled out and then send back to them for processing. Sounds easy enough but my only problem is I dont know where to go to find the right doctor. Can I just go to my regular doctor or does it have to be a military doctor? I am from Iowa and have tried doing a google search but no luck. Does anyone have any advise that might help? I would just ask my husband but comunication is very limited.
Thanks everyone :)
You might want to ask within Girlfriends, Fiances, and Wives of Sailors, but I think you just need to have it filled out by your physician, There may be some information with the forms that will give you direction.
Your normal Dr will do just fine. Be sure you have fill out the forms completely and always always from now until forever make 2 copies of anything you do regarding the military and file one in a fireproof box with all your life's important papers. I was a military wife and cannot begin to tell you how many times someone "misplaced" the necessary papers for something. As a military mom I keep a folder on each child(even though they are 19.20 and 24) of all their school, medical and financial info so if they need something I can get them a copy quickly. In this time of quick deployments, the more info you have at your fingertips the better. Good Luck! and enjoy the world!
