Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Know that you have done your part and he is ready to pursue his dreams. Help him prepare by checking out Things to Do in the Last Month before Your Future Sailor Leaves for... and also join the DEP group for the month he ships to connect with others who are going through the same things you are. Some have the same feelings you do.

Getting on N4M will hope you out so much. My son has been in for 10 months now and I still remember that emotional time before he left. There were so many times I looked at him and wanted to cry knowing he was soon leaving.
My daughters are both in college and I get to see them. The hardest part for me is realizing I can't see him anytime I want. ha The day we left him to catch the bus for bootcamp, I cried all the way home from St. Louis. When I got home I told my husband I wanted to go get him and bring him home. He said I don't think we can do that. Honestly as a lot of mothers say, the first 3 weeks are the hardest. The first phone call home when they can talk for awhile is really hard too. They are exhausted and experiencing things they have never experienced before. When my son sounded like he was getting choked up, I really had to be strong. Then when I hung up I cried. Then when he called 4 or 5 days later, he sounded so much better. I just think they are exhausted and experiencing all these emotions. My son is now in Norfolk and I am so proud of him as well as all of these kids that have joined. He just turned 19 in February. First time being away from home for this long. But boy has he learned to be independent. You will be so proud once things get underway for your son. I get chills when people ask about my son and I can say he is in the NAVY. It will be hard, but just be encouraging and strong for him as I am sure you will. Good luck!
