For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Failed 1st PT :((((

Got a letter from my son last week, and was totally freaking out! He sounded so down. This is the first time he has ever been away from me for this long, and we are very close. I wrote him the "mom motivational speech" letter (my older son swears this is the greatest thing ever.) Got another letter Wednesday and he sounded "a little better" but he failed his PT. Wishes he would have listened to his dad and I when we kept "harping" about working out to get ready. How many times does he have to pass the PT? Also, on a humorous note, he said he had just finished ironing his clothes (I wasn't even aware he knew what an iron was!) and he sucked at it. I do believe this is a real eye opener!

Comment by lemonelephant on July 13, 2012 at 9:30pm: He will be tested at least 3 times for the PFA, but it is the last one that he must pass. If he fails by too much, then it will be noted and he will find himself with extra IT and maybe even wearing extra pounds to build him up so that he will pass. I'm sure he isn't the only one who failed in his division. The RDC's want everyone to get through on time, so they'll do what is needed to get him through. If he pushes himself, he will make it and have PIR.
