Its been a month today that we dropped our son at the recruiters office. It feels more like its been months since we seen him. We have recieved 2 calls last weekend and we were lucky enough to speak with him again yesterday. Also the letters are becoming regular on Thursdays. Which is awesome. I cant help but feel sadder after i recieve the letters and the call. I guess its normal so many emotions. Thanks for listening i just needed to vent. Not everyone understands how we are felling. He is doing very well though. And we are extremely proud. Just missing him alot.
Wow. I thought I would start to feel better after a month had gone by. My son left of the 9th - a week ago today we dropped him at the recruiter. A least if he has been there a month - you only have one more month to go. Can't wait to get a letter or a phone call.
I can totally understand what you're saying! My son left on Sep. 5th and it already feels like an eternity! I received the box and form letter and can not wait to get my first letter and phone call!
Please keep your heads up. It does get easier. You will still miss them tremendously, but with each letter and each call you realize they are doing just fine. Once they are in A school after graduation it is a different ball game. The communication is much better. My daughter has been in for over a year now... sometimes it seems like yesterday we dropped her off at the hotel.
my son has been there a month now also, and he made two phone calls to me last week and said they were the last mandatory calls they get before BS21 so now I only have letters to rely on. I was doing ok up until now, knowing that I won't hear from him for another 3 weeks is killing me. I totally understand what you are feeling. Hugs to you! Hang in there only 4 more Fridays until PIR!
