Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

We just received our 1st letters as well! Your post sounds like I wrote it; I felt the same way. I prayed the "tone" of his letter was positive, and it was. That will keep me going until he can call.

Keep in mind it can take 9-14 business days to receive the letter. You’re still within that window. Hang in there - it should be soon!

My son shipped out on September 12th... Ship 14 Division 429..

My son left on September 10th. Ist letters received were on the 26th. We have informed delivery from the USPS, so we could see they were in the mail that day. Hopefully you receive your letter in a day or two.

@Jazmom ... is your PIR also November 15th? And I read somewhere how to sign up for the mail, but can’t find the information again. Can you please share? Thank you.

@VIII-I-MMIX, my son's PIR is Nov 8th. I'm not sure where the link is here for mail delivery, but just go to the USPS.com site. The link to sign up there is on their home page.

Hello again @JazMom ... I figured it out. Thank you in advance. Though I have one more question. Since that’s your first letter ... does that mean that’s also the first time you sent him mail? Coz I haven’t sent him anything because I have to wait for that letter, right? I didn’t even bother to check with his recruiter for the address and might as well just send him a letter once we receive the official address. Thank you. Sorry for too many questions.

VIII-I-MMIX, We were able to find out his address from his recruiter on the 20th, so I sent a letter that day. That was also the day that the form letter came with both his address, as well as I formation about graduation. If you haven't received that, it should be coming soon . Don't hesitate to contact your child's recruiter for information. Also, ask anything from this group, that what we're here for. I look forward to hea7when you get mail!!
