My SR called today very upset and crying. She was doing so well in boot camp, then she fractured her ankle got send to RCU, passed her medical PFA, reinjured herself as a result of ankle injury (now, it's her knee) got put on light duty and is so worried she won't graduate and be sent.to SEPS. She has been in BC since April, 7, 2015.She says she has 180 days to complete but she has used up much of her time. I'm confused, I don't know what's going on. People try to help but I get conflicting messages from this websites. Even my SR is confused, she has been in there so long and wants this so bad and now her knee is hurt as a direct result from her fracture. She's used about 134 of her days already. I thought that the people in FIT were there to help? It seems as though she's getting no support or help from anyone, most of her friends have gone on. How could medical.not see this happening with her knee. She's afraid to complain although she did tell them about it. What is she doing wrong and what are they doing wrong? Should I contact legal if she foes to SEPS. It really doesn't seem fair. She has tried so hard to become a sailor and its tearing her apart. We really need some assistance quickly. I told myself I wasn't going to vet involved, but it seems that now I have to. Please some one help and give me some answers, ASAP! A concerned mother.

She is the best source for information on her situation. Yes, recruits are given a deadline for when they must pass the PFA or be sent to SEPS and separated. The amount of help that she gets in FIT will also depend on her attitude. The RDC's sometimes seem to focus on those who are putting in the effort to make it and who have the kind of attitude that the RDC's want to see in a shipmate. The RDC's or other recruits or Sailors (sometimes those in the THU) will often run alongside the recruit to help pace them and to offer encouragement to keep going when doing the run.

There is info for you in Battle Stations-21 (BST)
