Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

My boyfriend left on the 1st of May, he is in Ship 2 Div 298, anyone else with the same? Waiting for his box and letter now! So proud of him!
That address has somehow been entered incorrectly into the system if that is what the recruiter has. It is not possible; go to http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming_grads.asp --that is the RTC's site for the PIR dates and gate passes. you will see the last posted TG is:
"TG 32 - 9 Divisions (229-236 and 932) Graduate Friday, June 21, 2013. Each recruit will be permitted 4 guests."
The next TG is probably the TG that your SR is in. Since the largest a TG can be is 16 divisions (and it is seldom that large; in fact I've never seen one over 15 divisions), that means if the TG were to contain the maximum number of divisions, it would be Divisions 237-250 and Division 933 and perhaps Division 814. I really DO NOT expect the TG to be that large, but as you can see Division 298 is not among those numbers and won't be for a few months. Ship 2 houses only the 900 Divisions, so your recruit is in either Division 932 or 933 if the recruiter has the ship number correct based on his arrival date.
Recruiters get addresses wrong all the time and every now and then, the info is entered incorrectly into the computer, which happens if numbers get transposed or a recruit is moved from one division to another and the two numbers get mixed together. Do not send any more letters before receiving the form letter--we would say that to anyone, but it is especially important for you since the address you have is WRONG.
