Ok, so my son left last week September 14th and as of today I haven't gotten the box or the letter. I am feeling so jealous of those mom's who have gotten one or both, those who already know the Ship and Div and most importantly their PIR date!

It's hard doing this long distance...my son lived with his dad in Maryalnd and I'm in Florida. Not easy to begin with but even harder when you are trying so hard to stay in the loop of what is going on. So this morning I tried calling the recruiters office to see if they could help me out with any information. They took my name and number and said they'd call back. A couple hours later I tried calling the recruiter himself on his cell phone....sorry m'am today is my day off, call me tomorrow at 9am... (doesn't he know how anxious I am?!?!?!) So I waited yet again, and thought this is stupid! I called the office again...and I wonder how they recruit anyone? Every time I called the phone just rang and rang and rang.... FINALLY I someone answered. It was the Recruiter in Charge. I think I may be making progress.....

I just really want to get a letter or two in the mail for my son. I know it will take a while for it to actually get him, and he probably won't appreciate it as much as I will knowing he has it, but that's not the point.... The point is - in my mind - that he deserves to know how much I love and support him and how proud of him I am! He knew that when he left - I think he got tired of hearing it :-) - but he needs to hear it more now than ever....

Ok, enough for now....Who knows, maybe when I get home from work the box AND the letter will be at my doorstep!

Go figure....just when I finish venting - I get the information I've been craving! Still don't have a PIR date, but that's ok. I can now start sending letters to my son!!

BR549 - I've already put two in the mail....:-)

Denise - He's in Ship 2 Division 952. The recruiter said it was showing "unknown" for the PIR date, but if you can top him that would be great!

I got my first letter this past friday! read it 6 times, read it to all my friends too. Em said they were busy and having fun, s12 d345, but it is hard when you just can't pick up phone & call. I am reassured they (Navy) have taken over where I left off, this makes me feel better, but I still miss her. Just keep writing everyday and check your mail!

I do feel better now that I've gotten the box and I can write letters. Still anxiously waiting for the form letter. Who know's maybe I'll get a real letter first! They haven't posted his PIR date yet, is that because they are still waiting for the Division to fill?

HI! I am new to this. My daighter died and I raised my grandson who left Sept 14th and was sworn in Sept 15th. He is in Div 952 Ship 02 also!!!

I just got the form today showing a date of Nov 12th.

He sounds SO homesick. I sure am lost, miss him and cried a lot.

Hopefully, I can do all of this on my cell phone and figure it out. It sure would help to have other mom's who understand how I feel and my questions.
