Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Frustrated Divorced Mom :(
Can anyone tell me how I can find out on my own what Division my son is in so I can track when his Graduation from BC will be? He left January 7th and had been delayed a day or two getting to Great Lakes due to the bad weather. That's all I know. I rely on my ex-husband to give me any information. I do not know when he actually arrived there even though I asked numerous times. According to my ex husband he said he's received no more information on my son since. I find that hard to believe. I am aware of "the call" when they arrive and "the box" and a letter they send home in about two weeks. My ex-husband will not tell me anything and I feel left in the dark. I don't even know if I'll be on the list for BC graduation. Can anyone suggest what I can do? It's very unfortunate my ex-husband gets all the correspondence and will not share any information with me. Thank you.

Try his Recruiter... I got an address the next day. My sons Recruiter called me.. So step up and called them.. Unless your child told not to give you any info.. I would call!! Good luck

Great advice! Thanks.. No, my son wouldn't request that. It's my ex that likes to keep me as alienated as possible (sorry if it's TMI). Now there's only one problem, I don't know who his recruiter is... Maybe a local recruiting office can advise me?

You can call the public affair office at Great Lakes. They should be able to at least give you the mailing address.

yikes, poor mom, left in the dark, makes me mad!!! yah, call the local recruiter where he lives, they should help you out, find out he's job, so you can find out if he has any other schools after BC.

Thank you everyone for your wonderful advice and guidance! I don't know what I would do without this website! You are all wonderful. .... and yes Hello2u, an alienated parent IS a crime and an unfortunate epidemic in our society. I am so proud of my son's decision to enter the Navy.. I don't want to miss a thing!

First thing to do is look at your personal page - click MY PAGE on above menu bar. Yes, every member has a personal page. On your page, you'll find comments posted by Navy For Moms Admins and lemonelephant (one of our members). The comments contain links to groups and discussions that will help you. You should look at the videos in the Survival Guide. There is a link to the Graduation Streaming Live as well - for those who won't make it to PIR.
On your husband being a jerk and if he is withholding information from your son that you are suppose to share, if you have the money you can hire a lawyer and get a court order compelling him to forward to information to you in a timely fashion or you can request that your son send the info to your first and you forward to information to your ex.
