For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Frustrated Divorced Mom :(
Can anyone tell me how I can find out on my own what Division my son is in so I can track when his Graduation from BC will be? He left January 7th and had been delayed a day or two getting to Great Lakes due to the bad weather. That's all I know. I rely on my ex-husband to give me any information. I do not know when he actually arrived there even though I asked numerous times. According to my ex husband he said he's received no more information on my son since. I find that hard to believe. I am aware of "the call" when they arrive and "the box" and a letter they send home in about two weeks. My ex-husband will not tell me anything and I feel left in the dark. I don't even know if I'll be on the list for BC graduation. Can anyone suggest what I can do? It's very unfortunate my ex-husband gets all the correspondence and will not share any information with me. Thank you.

You can watch the PIR online, livestream....it's very good. My son's friend graduated a few weeks ago, so I watched his to see what it was like. Almost like being there.

Thank you Anchormom23, looks like I will have to do that. I found out that my son did not add me to the access list. My ex husband sent me a text telling me this. He chose my ex and my two other boys to attend. The fourth access is going to my ex-husbands, son from his first marriage. He was a Marine and I believe a big influence as to why my son entered the Military. The downside to all of this is I still do not know my son's ship or division. As advised I called the recruiting office and they told me to call public relations and public relations at GL said it's confidential to give out any recruiter information. It would have to come from my son. My only hope now is that my ex will tell me my son's graduation date so I know when to watch. I think I had seen on GL Facebook page or the bootcamp page, that they listed the names of the men
set to graduate. Thank you everyone on NavyForMoms for all your help and advice. It was all greatly appreciated.

Can anyone tell me, now that I know my son's ship # and Division AND PIR date... Am I allowed to write him to that address where he is residing before he graduates?

Yes, I could not see why you couldn't? As long as you know the ship# and division# you should be good to go ;). Depending on ship the addresses are different. I can help you finding that, just let me know?

He is SR while at the RTC. See Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit for more that..
