I want to express my feelings but there is so much going on right now and I want to honor my son when my mind is a bit clearer. My son, Matthew James Bergman, will forever be the beat of my heart and my reason to believe in everything that is good and honorable. I hope everyone will bear with me as we endure his loss and I appreciate everyone who is offering support in this great time of need.

God Bless,

Melody Paxton

My deepest condolences to you and your family. I honor and thank your son for his enthusiasm and dedication to serve our country. May all that knew and loved him think of him and remember him now as a living soul..forever young, forever safe, forever free and alive in the Light and Love of God, and in the embrace of all those who have gone before him.

May the Lord lift you up in your time of need. Always remember that He loves you and He loves your Son. I've read about your son, and he was a remarkable man of character, honor, amazing intelligence and faith. He honored his parents and glorified his Lord. He is hearing those words we all hope to hear: "well done, good and faithful servant...". May God bless you with His immeasurable compassion, mercy, grace and peace. You are in so many of our prayers, sister. Rest in Jesus, who is the same yesterday, today and forever!

The Lord works in mysterious ways. It is hard NOT to question Him during times like these. Your son will remain the beat of your heart, as you call it. Know that he left this world doing what he felt he was meant to do and will be with you FOREVER. My prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. May you find peace and strength each day.

My prayers go out to you and your family and the crewmembers and his friends. It's so hard to hear of the passing of one of our military sons or daughters. It really brings home the sacrifice and the committment that they make for all of us. Your family is bigger than you know!

Your family is in my prayers... my heart is aching for you all... my son is on the Boxer... We are safer because of our sons & daughters who serve.  God Bless all of them and keep each in His tender care.
