FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

You will soon be receiving a form letter that will give you his PIR date, and also some other valuable information.  It's hard to be patient, but you'll make it easier on yourself if you just relax.  He is in good hands.

Go to:

www.bootcamp.navy.mil  and click on graduations, then upcoming graduations.  This is updated weekly, look for his division #

You should be getting that Form letter from the Navy but addressed buy your Son soon. I think ours came after 1 week or a little over. You will have a small letter (5 lines ) from him written at the bottom. This letter will have other stuff you will need to keep . Best of luck to you. Use this website and get on you PIR website and Chat with Moms on there. You will love becoming friends with the other Moms. My Prayers are with you. Our PIR IS THIS FRI. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE MY SON!!!

I have been trying to open www.bootcamp.navy.mil/ for days to look for his PIR date but it will not open.

My son left for basic on 12/13 - trying to find out graduation date also.  SHIP 9 DIV 072    new to all of this, but this website is so helpful!
