Hello my name is Sonie (Sonja) and I am new to the Navy for Moms and from what I have seen so far I think this site will help a lot. My son sent me a text on Tuesday the 17th that  he was leaving Denver to the GL.It was tough to see him go but we (his family) are so very proud of him. I came home from work today and "The Box" was at the front door...that really makes it tough all over again wasn't expecting it that soon.So I guess next will be the letter and a phone call? He's only been gone a few days but it sure seems a very long time.Anyone else out there who's loved one has left the same time?

Hi Sonie.  My name is Lisa and I am also new to NavyforMoms.  My daughter left the 17th and we received her "box" yesterday.  Kinda makes it too real now.  Miss her terribly and am anxiously awaiting her first letter.
