Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

So sorry you won't be able to be at PIR for your son. Hopefully someone from your area can do you the favor of taking that picture for you.
However, for security reasons, OPSEC and PERSEC, SR's names should not be posted on this site. You may have to remove your post to protect your son's identity.

If you haven't joined the group for his graduation date, do so and befriend some folks on there and then thru private messaging, perhaps you can arrange for someone to take pictures for you.

Take care!

Make sure to tell your son in a letter when you write to him to buy the DVD of the PIR (graduation). You will get the DVD in the mail about 6 to 8 weeks after graduation but it is worth the wait! Also, all SRs get their pictures taken and will purchase them as well. ONe more thing, if another sailor "adopts" your son on the day of graduation, I am pretty sure they will have their cell phones and will do the favor to take a picture and send it to you. Make sure to join your son's PIR group so that you can reach out to other families and find out if anyone is from where you are. OHHH!!! and one more thing...lol!!! You can watch the livestream of the PIR...so wherever you are in the world, just log on and click on the link to watch it live!!

hope all of this helps!
Take care.
