My daughter cannot go on Tiger Cruise because she is just 11 and you have to be 12.  My son's ship is pulling into Norfolk, VA July 3rd I can still go on Tiger Cruise July 1st throught the 3rd with him.  But my daughter is really bummed.  We were gunna go to Virginia for the week of Tyler's homecoming and spend that week with him.  I don't know what to do.  Do these Tiger Cruise's come a lot or very random?  Should I go? or Should I drive to VA with my daugter and we watch my son's ship come in and vacation that week in VA?

Good Morning Marika,
This is my first time. My sailor is on his first deployment (air craft carrier) and I have the oportunity to fly to Florida July 1 to get on his ship and sail with him to Va homecoming till July 3rd its for family and friends of the sailor not spouses. He called this morning and said about 1600 civilians are coming aboard. But his sister can't come because its between ages 12-75 with no medical issues can come aboard. She is 11, so now he is saying maybe we should just do our original plan and drive to VA and watch his ship come in at base and stay the week...but I really want to do this with him too!! So, I don't know how often I will have this opportunity? I just don't know what to do I already paid my plane ticket to Florida but he wants to see his sister :(

thank you for info, he told me next time his ship goes out is 2015.  I'm having a friend of mine drop me off at airport then him and my daughter are going to head to VA and then they are going to watch us get off ship.  I get on ship Monday then it pulls in on Wednesday.  Is there anything they need to watch the homecoming of the ship or can anyone watch it?  I'm not sure how this works?

Dear alwaymile, RDH-navy mom,

Do you know why spouses are prohibited from joining the tiger cruise?  At some point spouses are even more important family members than parents, siblings and friends.  Although, i feel that parents and siblings weight equally and it should be in place of friends.  It is very hard to separate those two categories, since the parents and siblings love is a bit different, however equally strong.  On the other hand, Sailors also miss and are missed by their spouses as well.  Why the parents, siblings and spouses can't enjoy such a cruise together???  I feel as all of them are equally important and would like to enjoy that ride together!!!!  Don't you think so????  Take care and go ahead take the cruise today, don't wait until later!!!!  Hopefully, God Blesses you and your minor daughter to have another opportunity in 2015, to do it together, however, who knows what will be then????  Enjoy!!!!  I like your plan for July 1 to join your son, with your minor daughter and your friend greeting you, when you arrive on Wed, July 3 to VA.
