Today has been this most difficult day of my life....It's such a mixture of emotions! I'm PROUD, Happy that He's happy, and soooo sad for myself! I sent him off yesterday, knowing very well that I've had a year to prepare but NOTHING could prepare me for this overwhelming, inconsolable sadness. I love him more than life it's self and it feels like just yesterday that he ws trying to crawl into the dishwasher when I was loading it, or loving the movie "The Little Rascals" Where did time go? I'm not ready for him to leave me yet! I need him to still need me! Someone please tell me that he does.

Today I caught myself chuckling at all our little inside jokes and it made me feel close to him again. Is he thinking of me? Does he feel sad? Is he tired? All these things I just don't know. THAT is what makes me sad! Boy I just can't wait to hear his voice again....for that matter I can't wait fr that "box" to get here so I can smell his cologne on his shirt. I need to feel close to him!

I am thankful for you Navy Mom's! YOU are what get's me through! Thank-you

jessesmom; Yes, your son is very handsome! I was in the very same "emotional" state earlier this year when my son was in bootcamp. It does get easier, and RTC (recruit training center) takes VERY good care of them!

One piece of advise that is for the security of your son and ALL of our loved ones. It is in your son's best interest to take this picture OFF of your profile. It is a matter of security for all and a part of OSPEC'S rules. Also, be mindful of what you post on this site. NO nicknames, hometowns etc...

The RDC's (recruit division commanders) at RTC DO access this website (it is a public site) very often, and could use your son's picture as an "example" of what NOT to post on their own facebook, my space pages after they graduate.

I'm not picking on you, just want to make you and all of the other moms and dads aware of the consequences.
