Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Tues 2012Oct02
It's been a week since I left my boy at that hotel. I was awake, impatiently waiting (or worrying) that he didn't get up in time for the bus... so I broke down and called, silly me! About 4 1/2 hours later...my txt read, "just now leaving for the airport"! So much for the [this MEPS trip will be faster]... it's still the military, HURRY UP & WAIT. Thankful for the quick couple of calls before my next txt read, "taking Flight"...then "Howdy Dallas". Then again, impatiently waiting... and finally, "hey windy city". I was fortunate enough to get a couple more quick phone chats in, with the last one telling me that his next call would be the last one... oh my!
Again... impatiently waiting, tossing and turning... who can sleep when you know that phone could ring at anytime and you are desperately trying to plan out everything you want to say in 30 sec.... oh yea, and don't forget to put it on speaker so the husband can hear him too!? 12:45... or [0045] for him, the call comes... more tears, darn it... wanted to be strong, but I could hear it in his voice, like he said the night before..."not so much nerves, but anxious", so proud...
Now... here I am again, impatiently waiting... I've got letters that need an address, and oh yea... the box...

My son just graduated on September 28th. It is very hard at first but will get so much better.Just write him as often as you can. When he has PIR you are going to feel so proud. My son has matured so much in the last eight weeks and gained 18 pounds! That made me happy! Stay encouraged Mom!

You may want to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Mom's, PIR Reference Information, and New Members Stop Here. Once you know his PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Mom's and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that once it has been created.
