I received my 1st call from bootcamp & it was not what I was expecting. He was calling to inform me that he was in the hospital with a sprained ankle. At that point him nor I knew what was going to happen. I then received a 2 minute call yesterday from him stating that he was on a 30 day hold, would not be graduating with his division & would have to wait to be placed in another. He said he would try to inform me of a later graduating date. Does this mean he will be doing an extra 30 days of bootcamp due to injury? I hate not knowing whats going on, if anyone has any info regarding this please share it with me. Thank you very much
my son was just sent to RCU the information i got is that he will be in RCU for 6-12 weeks, average stay, then put back in a division at the spot he was taken out, so in my sons case he will have 4 weeks to go. any information anyone has i would love to hear. i dont have alot and it is scary when they make that call that they are injured and being set back.
i received another call from my son today. He will be there til he sees the Dr on the 7th. The only info he gave was that he would most likely be put back in a division but not his own. I know exactly how u feel not knowing whats going on. Being there is driving him nuts & his spirits were very low when he was taken from his division & the people he had made friends with. my son is having a hard time being there, he is just so home sick. I hope all is well with ur son & like i was told no news is good news
i received a call this weekend and he sounded better. he is in RCU and he said it was boring and hard to stay motivated. he was doing his best. going to therapy five days a week and the rest is boring until he gets up to level 3 of rehab then he can workout more. he also said he would be able to do some of the drills with different divisions during his RCU. the sad part is not being with his division and not graduating with a division. he doesnt think he will have a ceremony at all and i think that is sad for all the guys that work hard thru injury and dont get that honor
Glad to hear he sounded better :) So even if they're put in another division they still wont graduate? Thats just not fair!!! We still are in limbo about whats gonna happen. Will know more when he sees the doc
based on what i have read they dont get to have the ceremony. my son said that he will tag on to different divisions to do the requirements and he would probably not do the ceremony but go straight to A school. the website said this was so they did not lose anymore time getting to A school. i think it is unfair also since they work so hard i would like to see them get to do the ceremony but at this point i just want him to be ok and make it thru the RCU. i hope yours gets good news from the doctor
