This seems like the longest week ever. Monday, Julia found out that she had to leave on Tuesday evening instead of Wednesday like we originally thought. She was a little upset but it all worked out good. We had a nice spaghetti dinner with salad and garlic bread Monday night. As putting on weight was the goal, I thought ham would be good on Tuesday night before she left. We had a nice dinner with Ham and potatoes and corn and crescent rolls. Her nerves didn't permit her to eat a piece of the pumpkin pie that I made fresh that day. I figured with the pasta and bread that would help with calories. Most women would retain a little water if they ate something salty like ham. Here she is trying to gain weight and I'm trying to lose it.

She left all of her technical devices like cell phone at home and wore clothing that she wouldn't mind giving away. The one thing I did send with her was a Navy Bible with her name on it and some key scriptures. I figured it would be some good reading material. She weighed in Wed. morning at 106 with the minimum for her height being 105. She was sworn in, so it was done. She had to wait in the airport until 11 pm before the flight took her away to boot camp where she is today. Her new life and adventure begins today. Anchors away baby, spread those wings and fly.

While here at home, it's snowing and 11 degrees, luckily above zero.

Yeah, I know she will do fine. She was well aware of what she was going into. She is definitely done sitting on her laurels, she will be a busy person while she is there and I'm busy with work and stuff so it will be fine. Just looking forward to the graduation now and time will go by faster than I want it to in regards to saving for the plane ticket and all.

I look forward to seeing you in Boot Camp for Moms and in your PIR group. You will find that these groups will be very helpful for you. You might find that at times you know more than your daughter does...lol!! You should be able to call her recruiter Monday or Tuesday to get her Division and Ship and a temporary address. Good Luck on your journey!!
