Today was a GREAT day!!! We FINALLY got our letters! I got two envelopes, the first one was 5 pages! The 2nd one was 2! It was such an amazing feeling to hear from him, and I can't WAIT to see him at graduation! I think time is going to go by faster now :)

Time will go faster for you as you get closer.  Something to be aware of.....when you see your Sailors at PIR, they might be a little nervous and might seem distant.  I have 2 sons that have already been through this and when they leave the base, keep in mind that it's a world that they haven't seen in 8 weeks and it takes some of them awhile to unwind.  They are given "talks" to them by their RDC's where they are informed of all the rules while off base and those rules are strict so they do come across as being apprehensive cuz they do NOT want to mess up their first time out in the civilian world.  This is a BIG adjustment for them......the first several weeks are mind-changing at boot camp. But their love for you is not.  Keep all this in mind.  (They are also given very strict rules about "public displays of affection."  Hugging and kissing on the floor at PIR is acceptable.  After that, after you leave the hall, it is not permissible in public.....neither is holding hands or arms around each other in public - so remember alll this and not take it personal.)

This is very good advise!  My first husband was Navy and this is very true.  Honestly, once they get on a ship and deploy when they come back to shore you go through this again and again too.  It's just an adjustment period, it passes quickly.

Momof3kidz, yes, I've been on this site for 2 1/2 years and many times have seen postings by wives/girlfriends/fiances asking why was her loved one so distant? Have their feelings changed? I can understand, definitely, how they feel cuz they'e sooooo excited to FINALLY see them. I mean, heck, I even saw that in my sons....we the family are all , YAY!!!!!!!, and they're going through culture shock. To those reading, take lots of comfy clothes for them to change into at the hotel. Most of them want to immediately go to the hotel and just relaaaxxxx.......take naps. So we all just need to take into mind where they're at. Even though they've made it through boot camp, have graduated at PIR, they are still on military "watch." We need to understand and respect this. Have fun everyone!!!

My husband's PIR is Sept 30th so...as hard as it is going to be I think I'm just going to wait and let him do what he is allowed to do and try not to not rush him even though with all the time it has been and pregnancy hormones it is going to be crazy hard....
