For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My son said he has been waiting around the past few days till more recruits come to join them... So do they still do PT while they wait?
Now waiting for the phone call..Won't it be great if he calls on Mother's Day!!!

They probably wont PT for a while. Processing takes a good two weeks or so and if they are waiting on more people to arrive, it might take longer. They are going to do a lot of sitting and filling out paperwork and a bunch of silly busy work and cleaning barracks. ia m so happy your letter came!!!!! I remember that GLORIOUS day! Your phone call should come anyday now...but remember he wont say much :)

Thank you ladies! I have already sent all the relatives and friends his address and asked to spread the letters out... My goal is to have him receive mail every Sunday...

You will get the first call when he gets there safely and it will only last for less than 2 mintues. You will not get another call for 3 or 4 weeks, but you should be getting mail from him. It takes some time for them to get what you send them in the mail. Physical training starts after a few weeks of sitting around for them. My son was kind of upset because he ran 1.5 miles everyday and worked out for 1.5 to 2 hours a day to stay in shape. The sat around for two weeks and then it was like wham, here we are working out now. They have their first physical test after they have been sitting around for 2 weeks. My son failed the run by 2 seconds, which he was really upset about and never told us until after graduation day.
