It's hard for many of us moms to deal with our sons and daughters flying away from the nest even when we know it is for their careers and their happiness. We cry, we ponder.....we pour over baby albums, lol.

One word of advice to sailors, recruits, etc.....be kind to your family and send us photos....we live for little glimpses into your new lives......I love seeing photos of sailors and their friends....maybe goofing off at the beach, bonding in the barracks, doing the dunker, PT, playing basketball, volunteering......oh yes...official pics.....photos of you accepting a certificate at graduation or being given an award. One day you will be showing these precious photos to your sons, daughters....maybe even your grandchildren and THEN you will be glad your mom asked for the pictures!!

Some moms even share their photos with other moms and we talk about our pride in our sailors.

We even have some VERY SPECIAL angels who go out of their way to find photos for us!!! I <3 Jacq!!
Like the one below of Lynch's NACCS, class 46 graduation class!!

Lynch is in the first row, second from the left with his hand on his hip and left foot resting on a step.....the one with the warm smile! They are a good-looking bunch, ready to move on to their A schools.
I can never say thank you enough for the photos!! I asked many from 8/13 PIR to share photos with no answer.....so this really touched me!!! Ok, I did find one person on Facebook who sent me their PIR photos. I can't wait to put my slideshow together. I'm still searching for a fitting song....you know, one of those that make you cry by just hearing the first few chords? :)

Wishing I was in Pensacola right now instead of damp, dreary Ohio......Suzi

Good luck with this one. My sons don't like to be photographed. It's a male thing. My husband accuses me of looking like a tourist. He wants to be insouciant and says things like, "We should enjoy this moment instead of trying to record it." Later he'll look fondly at old the photos that I have taken. Of course, he is secretly happy that I did all that. He just doesn't want his beloved boys to know.

kk......which one is your son??? btw....thanks goes to Jac'q!!

@Bunker - I have a rep for always having my cameras with me......actually, people now depend on me for pics and I was even able to take photos for one of my husband's clients that he used in their marketing!! My son enjoys having photos of himself and friends, but just has not been "capturing" moments lately.....go figure! lol
