I will be moving to Norfolk in a few months when my fiance comes back from his deployment. We will be getting married when he comes back. I want to get an apartment but looking online it seems like every place has horrible reviews, does anyone know of any apartments that are in good areas. Oh and after getting married how long does it usually take to start getting bah ?

You may want to join Girlfriends, Fiances, and Wives of Sailors and/or Navy Girlfriends. They can answer the question about BAH, but I know that it can take a few pay periods, but you will get BAH from the date of the marriage once your info is entered onto his “Page 2” and verified.

I know that some stationed in Norfolk live in one of the surrounding areas, such as VA Beach. You may want to join Norfolk Sailors - Family & Friends and see if anyone on there has any ideas.

If you figure it out, let me know and I can help you find the group for it if there is one.

FPO addresses don't indicate the vessel for security reasons.
