My daughter is a senior in high school and is now officially in the Delayed Entry Program.  She went to MEPS this week, in the middle of the ice storm here in southwest/central Ohio!  She actually stayed an extra day to take the DLAB test and was very successful!  She's been assigned a job as a CTI.  I'll learn more tomorrow but it appears she'll leave around August for boot camp.  She is still interested in becoming a Rescue Swimmer but I guess that's a pretty tough test and this is an excellent position for her.  I am so pleased.  She had an enjoyable experience in Columbus and got such a tiny little glimpse of the new experiences and people she'll encounter in her life in the Navy.

I am super proud and excited, and just don't dwell on how it will feel to send her away!

My son did the same route. He trained for 1 yr for Air Rescue. He currently has 2 wks left at Boot Camp. This is a wonderful site!!! Everyone has been very helpful! It was very difficult sending my son off to Boot Camp, but I kept telling myself, this is what he wants. It has made it easier. Congratulations to your daughter!!!

Got the official date, it's August 9.  She's trying like heck to get it changed to 8/24 so she can do the buddy system with her best friend, and our recruiter said he'd try but he's doing a good job telling her not to be too hopeful!  She doesn't want to miss the fair....oh, she has so much to learn.  lol
