For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My pride is immeasurable!
As reported on the national news Henryville, IN. was destroyed by a tornado on March 2nd. http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/?threadId=3315273&pc=25&sp=475
My youngest son has organized and coordinated volunteers to go out and assist the residents of Henryville. This morning when I woke up and stumbled my way to the kitchen for coffee both my son and step son were there to greet me.
I was aware that my son would be out there today, but unaware that my stepson would be joining in the efforts. As I gave my son a good morning hug I realized that Thad also had his jacket in hand so as I made my way to hug him I asked, "Thad, are you going with Stephen?" he proudly answered "well of course!".
My husband and I were in Florida when this devastation happened. The following day, I received a phone call from my son communicating to me what he was orchestrating volunteers to help the families of this town. In this conversation with my son, I said to him: "Stephen, I can not express to you in words how proud I am to call you my son!" he replied "Mom, this is what we are SUPPOSE to do as Americans" WOW!!! What is a mother to say to that?
My son has no plans to serve his country through the armed services however: he serves through politics. Something I personally understand very little, he is very active is restoring the constitution and preserving the our American liberties.
Between the actions of my son and step son I am humbled by their acts of kindness toward their fellow man and proud beyond words of the men they have become.
