I actually got a phone call from him last night! Woohoo! And then promptly burst into tears, which was a little embarrassing because I was at a friend's house and I don't like crying in front of people. But it's always lovely to hear him :)
I had fun yesterday going out with friends (drank enough that I had to stay at their place, but for me that means only two beers, I'm such a light weight), and watching people watching the eclipse.
I find it difficult to ask for help when I need something, but I've just asked our CIAC if he knows of anyone who can get out on my roof and hook up my swamp cooler - I could pay someone to do it but I figure it's something that my husband would normally do so hopefully there is someone at the command who is willing to help.
I start a new job today - only a few hours a week but it should be good, it's for friends who have their own business and knew I was looking for work, they approached me because they need someone!
I had an interview last Monday for an entry level position with a large, well-known corporation. The Manager said she would let me know either way by Friday and she never contacted me! I think it's rather rude to say you'll let me know, and then not bother - I'm guessing she decided not to hire me, but I'd still like to know (would give me chance to ask why not, do I not interview well, or is it something else, or did she just like someone better...which is fine?) I know it's immaterial now since I have a job, but even so....!
I got a reply from another job I applied for saying I wasn't qualified - I'm trying to figure out why since the qualifications required were a HS diploma and 1 or more years of retail sales, which I have. I guess my degree made me over qualified..... :)
