I am very proud of him for serving. I just got sad the first couple days. It is getting easier little by little. My husband is afraid this will come between us, if I continue to get upset. My youngest son (Justin, he's 16) I know he's feeling right out lost, his big brother isn't here. They'd play games, Chris even taught Justin how to play the guitar. I don't know if I should approach Justin or if I should just let him come to me when he wants. Anyone have any pointers? Thank you

I just miss him, is all. He's only been away from home once before, his father treated him badly. So we weren't able to talk to him for awhile. I guess that's the main reason I got upset. Now, I haven't gotten upset like when his recruiter picked him up.

@ Denise (A Seabee Mom) And as for hobbies, I do have one. I crochet and I've really got to pick up on it again. There's some people that I've promised pillows & blankets to and I'm running out of time. : ) Thanks Denise, have a great 4th of July weekend!

Good advice Denise!  Teresa, you need to talk to your 16-year old and ask how he's doing.....write letters to Chris.  Know that we raise our children to do just what they're doing.....growing up and making plans for their future.  We can be proud of this .....there are so many young people that are lost and don't know what they want to do.  So, ask Justin how he's doing....write letters telling Chris how proud you are.  And come here and talk.....don't let your thoughts run around inside your head without sharing cuz it does help to share.  Hooyah!!!

Thank you ladies for the awesome advice. I did start writing letters to Chris today, but how long before we get letters from him? I don't have an address, and I think I read somewhere on this site that he'll write me & that way I get his address. Thanks again ya'll

Thanks Denise. A PIR? I'm sorry, I don't know what that is.

Lol, Oh. I just looked. Never mind. I looked earlier today & it looks like it might be Sept.2nd? Maybe?

lol, thanks Inga. I appreciate it, I do admit that I was giving Chris' going into the navy more attention. I was depressed for awhile. Actually up till last night, when I signed up for navyformoms.com, I was feeling lost misplaced. Now, I can talk to other navy moms who've gone through what I'm going through right now. Thank you all!
