my son has left and i am missing him like crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Took my son to the recruiter on monday, he boarded on tuesday morning the plane to BC and last nite he called me with the short message "i arrived safe and expect the box in a few weeks" Even though the call was less than a minute, i got a chance to tell him i loved him and good luck. It was good hearing his voice.

Been there done that. Our son left arrived on March 25th for boot camp. It has been quite a roller coaster. We finally received a letter on March 30th. He said they are only allowed to mail letters on Sunday. He called us last night, seems to be having a rough time, but is very happy with his decision. Keep your phone with you at all times. The phone call was totally unexpected and he got my voice mail because I did not hear my phone. I felt horrible!! Hang in there and pray alot.

This brings tears to my eyes. My son is on his 3rd year and my daughter just started her 2nd year.I remember those days like it was yesterday.
Mikey's mom is right be sure to keep your phone with you at all times. They call randomly and are given just a few minutes. When I left the house I forwarded my home calls to my cell as well, just in case he called our home phone.
Chicago was nice, I found the closest motel near the base, the first go round just to be sure we were there on time picking him up and taking him back. I remember how tired they both were the first day, so they really just want to sleep after all the excitement. So be sure your rooms have comfortable beds. Both my kids have grown so much, you will be amazed. Congratulations and write as often as you can they will need that support. I had all my family write so they could have a letter everyday. However, I did tell my family no bad news, just positive stuff. They have enough to deal with in bootcamp. Good luck
