Hi Kristi,

There is a group called Japan Moms. Ask any question you have and they will help you. My son has been in Japan for over a year now. I feel that the group has been very helpful.

I was stationed in Yokosuka, between hubby and my own orders, I was there for a total of 12 years. Loved it! Been a while, and yes, the groups have the best current information, especially on things such as Skype and cell phones.

There are several bases in Japan: Okinawa, Atsugi, Yokosuka, Sasebo, Misawa, and Iwakuni. Do you know which base? I know Yokosuka has a specific group.

I'm so embarassed. My sons base (per his father, that finally contacted me today) is not above, but Atsugi. My X gave me the means, to check info. about him, on the internet. Thanks ladies.

Atsugi is near Yokosuka. Kinda. It is an air base rather than a port.

Just google it and you will find more information than you know what to do with!

Let me know if you come up with more specific questions, I don't know a ton about Atsugi, but I did go through some training there.

Hey, don't be embarrassed, especially if you're getting second hand info. That you're here and asking shows you care deeply and are willing to learn!
