My daughter went on the 9th. Having a little trouble because she has fallen in love about 6 months ago and put everything in this boys hands. Including the phone call, the box of her stuff that came back, the forum letter. He was kind enough to bring a copy to my parents to copy. Its hurtful to some of the family but im kinda taken it as she is in love, young and going through a big event in her life. She is old enough to join the navy, she can choose her life now. Very hard to let go. Im still writing every day, coming on here for support and trying to keep busy. You better believe i put a letter in the mail now so i can see the flag go down and run to check it every day. They say mail call is gold to them?

Ichijo3-don't worry I did the same..I just had several people in the chat tell me to not put to much personal stuff.  As with any military they have the right to monitor anything that has to do with our sailors.  As alot of our sailors with be getting security clearances it is best to just try to stay general in conversations.  Like I said we can friend each other and send messages those are not monitored.  It is just the posts we put on blogs.  I grew up military and my father did classified work-I am married to a ex military who does defense contracting work-both my dad and my husband have to do security clearances so I know to not put alot of info out.  I hope this helps and STAND STRONG AND NAVY PROUD

Has anyone received packages?  I'm still waiting.  I am looking forward to having an address to write to.  It seems funny not at least getting e-mails from my son.

I received my sons stuff yesterday-there was no info included.  I understand that a few days after package arrives you get letter with address on it.

I got my kid in a box yesterday. I am glad I had the chance to read prior post, therefore; I was prepared for the moment.

I am assuming you all got the address for your child by now, like i did last weekend??

My son Blayne is in Ship 07, Division 339.

I was surprised the graduation seems two weeks sooner than I anticipated.

Good advice.  Friends are so important.  I finally got my address I was waiting for.  My nephew who was a Marine in Iraw just e-mailed me that he is writing to him.  This will mean a lot to him.
