Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

PAMELA, I also left info for you on your My Page. Your recruit will call upon arrival and then sometime in the next three to four weeks--sometimes before three weeks, but not often.

PAMELA My son called when he got to boot camp and said he would call me again in 3 weeks.He also sent me a text when he arrived at airport in chicago to tell me he landed. I miss him so much but proud

michaelsmom, that call "in 3 weeks" can be before or after that. Have your phone available every day between 8 am and 8 pm Central Time and don't expect a call, but be pleasantly surprised if you receive a call. See Phone Cards and Phone Calls; it even gives some times you can relax and know that you most likely will not miss a call.

Good morning everyone - i'm new to N4M. My son also left to bootcamp on July 1st. He sent me a text when he arrived in Chicago and called me when he arrived at RTC. I received his box of personal items yesterday. Now i am waiting for the form letter. I cry everyday since he left but yet proud of the decision he made to join the Navy.
