My son was giving verbal orders to a aircraft carrier, The Carl Visson.  But he is now waiting for a hard copy order. Does anyone no how long that takes, before he knows when he lives. He was told this almost 2 months ago. I am so nervous that he is now going somewhere on a ship. This has been his dream, his dad was in Vietnam & was on a aircraft carrier, so he is happy to get the same. But you know how I feel, it just not knowing where he is heading to.

My son's on the Carl V. I haven't heard from him for the past month.
It's tough waiting for a call or an email but I guess this is part of a child in
the service. I just didn't understand that it would be long periods without
talking. Good luck with waiting to hear from your sailor:).

Denise,
I'm not real such where they are now, and are we allowed to say on this site?
Every other country knows where they are because of satellite, just not the Moms.
I believe they were heading towards the Arabian Sea. Try not to worry if you don't
hear from your son because I think they have limited Internet access whereever they
are. And my son was tired, I could hear it in his voice so they must be working really
hard.

It can take a couple months to get the hard copy orders. Nothing too unusual.

Please excuse my ignorance but what's the difference?
I'm not familiar with some of the terms, trying to learn so
so I can have a better understanding of what's happening
in my son's life.
Any explanation would be appreciated.

I agree. And I got a short email yesterday:).
Hopefully, you'll hear from your son too.
