OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

My other half leaves next Sunday for boot camp in Great Lakes. I'm nervous about how hard the 2 months will be, but we've been waiting on his departure date for about a year now, so I'm also excited about our future together after boot camp (we plan to get married shortly after boot camp). I know I will miss him, but I have faith in myself that i can hold it together for 2 months and just stay busy!!

It's going to be hard- I cried everyday when my son left for boot camp. Yes keeping busy will help...somewhat~ you just pray and wait for those phone calls, I only got 3 and then the one after battlestations which was the longest call, so a total of 4 phone calls. And the letters!- the letters were the highlight of my day!!! It took 6 days to send and receive them. This site was a wonderful place for me, talking with others who are going through the same thing was such a comfort. Here's what my son said to me "just remember mom, everyday of boot camp is a day closer to graduation!"
