Hi all, I am new to this sight and my son will be leaving for boot camp on Feb 12.  I have googled what I could and talked to his recruiter about the graduation from boot (I need to book my flight already ha ha). Anyway, do any of you know when I should hear about the actual date for graduation?? This is his first time away from home, he just turned 20 and between me and you he is sort of on the younger side of 20 so it will be a completely NEW experience for him.  Well any advice or tidbits any of you may have,I'm all ears.  I have already started his NAVY scrapbook :)

Don't book a flight before you have the letter in hand with his grad date.  Because the first few days are in processing, and some get into a division immediately, while others wait for the next division to fill, it can be difficult to tell the exact date just by counting Fridays.

He'll be fine being young.  They all are.

MzJinks. My son left for boot camp Jan 23 and still haven't receive a letter from him. We got a short call saying he arrived and he was sending a box w/ his civilian cloths and that was the last we heard from him. From what I gathered we will hear of his graduation date upon receiving our first letter. Will see.
