Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

New to all this
My oldest son done all this stuff this week at meps and signed his papers. He will be leaving out for bootcamp the end of October. Trying to learn all this and get use to all of this. I have a little over 6 months of him being home with us before he leaves out. I am proud of him and glad he is doing something like this but at the same time being a mom I am worried about him.

6 months seems like a long time but trust me it will go by fast. My son Depped in October 2014 and ships out to boot caamp the end of June, the time has flown by. Enjoy being with him and making memories to help you along while he is in boot camp... Welcome...

soybean, your comment here is also misplaced. Your Sailor is the one who can tell you where he is. Email him or send him a fB message and let him know that you'd like to connect with him. It is up to him to respond.
