Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

okay
1. no letters in weeks
2. no call since my son left
3. no invitations
should this happen?
My son grads on 6-17-11 please help
Sean's mom; 1. Not receiving letters from your son is HIS responsibility. He has to write the letter, address and mail it. 2. Did you receive the 20 second "'Im here, I'm fine, and I love you call the night he arrived at bootcamp? Every SR is suppose to be able to call 3 times during bootcamp. Sometimes they can't because they are on watch or busy doing something else when their unit has their scheduled time at the phone banks. The second call is at about the three week mark of bootcamp. The final call is after Battlestations (their final 12 hour exam) letting you know that yes, he passed and is now a Sailor. If he graduates on 6/17 then his division has not yet completed Battlestations. Did he leave home with a calling card? They need to have a calling card in order to make any phone calls. They are available at the NEX on base for the SR's to purchase (the cost comes out of their paycheck's) 3. There won't be any "formal" invitations to graduation from RTC (Recruit Training Center). Did you receive the box of his belongings about two weeks after he arrived at bootcamp? Soon after the box was delivered a letter should have arrived giving you all of the information needed regarding his address at bc and about PIR (Graduation).
My son's "box" and letter went to his girlfriend's home. If you didn't receive them, is it possible he mailed them to someone else? Not knowing if he's married or anything else makes it hard to tell you what might have happened to these things. Have you been writing to him?
I hope some of this might be of some help.
Oh i remember those days when my ET sailor was in bc.didnt get a letter from him for 3or4 weeks wasnt easy waiting and on phone calls also he only got to call a couple of times. they are so so busy with so much at the end of the day he just for the most part is in need of sleep! and lays there in his bunk just thinking about things that took place that day and what is expected of him the next..lol grad is approaching sounds like sssooo you should be getting a invite provivded he put your name on the guest list.you need to check PRI group and print out invite info! cant get in without it call his recruiter maybe he can get you in the right direction??? hope you have a letter in the mail for him cuase grad.is coming up soon he might not get it in time.good luck to you and your son...
