Here i sit, wondering just how he is doing .  My sons gf got the letter today but was unable to give me his information but said she would tonight. Hes only been gone for 10 days. My son has lived out of the house since he graduated from HS in 2007, but him moving away to go to college isnt anything like this. I have so many different feelings about this chapter in our  life  but i know that he has choose a road that will take him far in life. I sit here and read all the posts from all over and it is very comforting knowing that every mom on here is going thru exactly the same thing. Thank you ladies for posting to N4M , i know that we all will be a very big support system for each other.

This site is very helpful!  Also, write your sailor all the time!  They need that support system and it helps keep them connected with home. My son has written and called but the calls have all been kind of short.  I thought we would get to talk longer but...I guess it depends on the division and how well they do, it might affect the call time he gets.  It has been a great experience for him and us.  Every time we get a letter he makes me proud!  I hear the growth in his voice by the things he writes.  Such a great learning experience for sure.  Hang in there mom, you just might have a great opportunity to reconnect with him soon in a new way too.  I love getting letters and sending him my thoughts as well.  Blessings on your journey!
