Hi I was wondering if anyone else Sailor is having trouble getting paid. My son has not been paid for the last 2 checks. When he asked about it he is told they will pay him over time which does not sound right. Payday is Payday
He is going again tomorrow to talk about this again. Hopefully he gets this taken care of soon. He still has college loans to be paying
I went to the top right of this blog page and typed "paychecks" into the "Search Navy for Moms" .
The frst thing that popped up was a question by a Mom back in February asking the same question. When you lok you'll see many previous Moms had the same question. Here was one of the responses
"They probably did not get him processed in time for 2/15th payroll but he probably should have been good for the Feb 29th check. They get paid on the 1st and the 15th of each month unless those days follow on a weekend and then they are paid the friday before."
Do some research there and you'll probably get the answers in that area! Good Luck. Hope this helps.
BoxinatorMom, kdmac1 now has a Sailor (PIR in July), so he should be receiving pay regularly. He needs to check with the Personnel Support Detachment (PSD) and see what is going on.
Yes, kdmac1, when an error is made, they make the correction over several months rather than all at once. My Sailor has something going on with his pay right now and has not been paid what he should be paid for a couple of pay days, but I don't know the full details. I know that when the Sailor has to pay back something (an overpayment or loan) to the Navy that they take it out in less months than when the Navy owes money to the Sailor.
My Sailor had to come home on emergency leave a while back and the flight arrangements were made through the Red Cross, but he had to reimburse them for that and was told it would come out of his pay equally over a 4 month period (divided among 8 paydays) and then it was taken out in 2 payments instead. Something happened when he advanced in rate at one point (or it may have been due to his new duty station, I can't remember for sure) and he was not paid what he should have been paid and they made the correction over several months.
:o) BoxinatorMom, The only reason I know anything about this is my Sailor mentioned when he has had a problem that he was going to have to use his emergency fund until it was straightened out so that I wouldn't be concerned since I monitor that and he mentioned recently that he was talking with PSD. Once they are Sailors, it's up to them to deal with problems that arise. Actually even as Recruits they need to address their problems, but they probably wouldn't know about a pay problem while at the RTC since they don't have access to their LES.
