For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please help :)

I have some questions that i would appreciate being answered. My boyfriend just graduated basic training and is now going to A-school. This is all new to me so i'm just curious about everything.

1. Do they get to come home for the holidays? (Thanksgiving,Christmas,New years?)

2. After he graduates from A-school, will he come home right after that?

3. Will i be able to talk on the phone more with him in A-school & webcam with him on the laptop?

I would really appreciate any answers you could give me or any other information :) THANK YOU!

Comment by SierraA on November 11, 2011 at 10:12pm: Thank you so much! So even though he's in the Reserves, he still won't come home for good? As far as what he told me before he left, he said that he'll probably be stationed where he lives since he's only in the reserves. I hope thats right?

Comment by Anti M on November 12, 2011 at 10:43am: If he is in A school for the holidays, he will get to take leave during the stand down. It is up to as much as two weeks. Active duty sailors can borrow earned leave days, I don't know how that works for reserves. He might only get a week or so. They will be told how to apply for leave.

He will get Thanksgiving Day off, and much of the weekend IF he does not have duty, but cannot travel more than 300 miles from base.
