Hi Ladies,Welcome to Our site N4M the best site youll ever want to be involved with lots and lots of support I agree with Denise above things will fall into place I know is hard plus your son is so young I was a reck myself a year ago and my son was 25 my only one so just hang in there it does get better little by little.Soon youll be getting a box from the Navy with all your sons belongins that he had with him, that was hard for me so like Denise said take a deep breath, just make sure you and your cell phone become good friends go everywhere together (not kidding everywhere LOL) I only received one call from my son in the 8 weeks because the division he was in was a bit talkative so priviliges were taken away they were a young group. Do write lots and lots and dont write anything on the outside of the envelope just a white envelope with the addresses no cute stuff no stickers just a plain old envelope so he doesnt stand out. We know about the crying mine is in for a little over a year and now its time for more and lots of praying since for the first time he is on a ship new journey new worries but as we all know thats a Moms Job To Worry we cant help it just as you know be very supportive in your letters and when you get to talk to him and by the next time you see him youll see how much he has grown. I hope you can make his PIR Graduation start saving the money its awesome. If you like to friend me Ill be glad to answer anything I can and know gldly pass it on Good Luck to both of you ladies Prayers for your Sailors,Maria Navy25

rainmom / Kendra.  It really does get easier.  I have 26 more days to PIR for my son.  The first two weeks were definately the hardest no doubt.  But as you start getting the letters / phone call, it does get better.  I received a quick phone call the 3rd week in and also another call about a week later that he had earned.  as they said above, no news is good news.  Hang in there.  This site is a lifesaver!
